Our independent, family-owned property is perfectly situated near the city center with easy access to Lake Lanier, making us an ideal, budget-friendly stopover for guests looking for a straightforward, hassle-free place to rest and recharge. While we are located along Buford Drive (Highway 20) with seamless access to Interstate 85 (I-85) and I-985, our building is set back far enough from the highway to offer a quiet, peaceful night's sleep for our guests.

Our Property Layout & Conveniences

The Travel Inn features a classic, multi-building two-story exterior-corridor layout designed for straightforward access, convenience, and peace of mind.

• Exterior-Corridor Access: Our traditional design allows you to bypass crowded indoor lobbies, elevators, and long interior hallways. Guests staying on the ground floor enjoy the convenience of parking directly outside their room door, while our second-story rooms offer quiet, elevated views with exterior stair access.
• Vehicle Parking & Limitations: Our open-surface parking lot provides hassle-free parking for standard cars, SUVs, and pickups. For larger transport, we have dedicated, limited space that can comfortably accommodate up to two semi-trucks and two large box trucks, moving vans, or vehicles hauling boats and trailers at any given time. Because large vehicle space is limited, we recommend contacting our front desk ahead of arrival.
• 24-Hour Front Desk: Our reception desk is staffed 24/7, ensuring a seamless, secure check-in process no matter how late you arrive from a long day on the road.

Originally built in 1987 as Buford’s very first motel, the Travel Inn has been a reliable fixture for travelers for nearly four decades. Under dedicated new family ownership since January 2023, the property is undergoing a continuous, steady restoration. We handle facility improvements thoughtfully as business allows, focusing our energy daily on elevating cleanliness and room comfort.
